Coverage of Main event is very boring without seeing hold cards as they are played. Poker took off - not because Moneymaker won - but because we could see hold cards and 'more of less' play along.

All it is now is a group of guys sitting and 2 boring people talking, talking, talking with nothing to say.

ESPN is losing the final interest in poker in America. Government started it and ESPN is finishing it off.

Good Luck to Frank Kassela (David's Dad) from all of us at Spring Valley Montessori School. Have fun David, learn a lot from traveling to another continent. There is no better way to learn about different places
by physically being there.

my first post with the comment from the WSOP coverage on ESPN was put out in a hastily fashion - I was irritated by a few things that night.

With that being said, I agree 100% with Frank's synopsis of the coverage and whatnot. I have also played at the same table as people with terrible attitudes - I'm sure anyone who plays poker has been there. I always keep a positive attitude while playing. If i lose a hand for whatever reason, getting down on myself or getting mad at the way the cards came out will only have a negative effect on myself for the remainder of the game.

I have always enjoyed poker (and gambling in general), but this summer I may have found a love for the game. I have ventured out from playing home games and entered tournaments at casinos in the area - I need to start doing that on a more regular basis. So far, I've been pleased with the way I've played this summer - even through the losses. This is how one of the tournaments I entered panned out for myself. I entered in a tournament that fielded 108 players. At my table, I was in charge from the get go. It felt like I was making all the right calls, bets, and folds. I had amassed a big stack of chips. We were down to 35 players when I was reseated at a new table. Long story short, I only played 3 hands at the new table before I was put out. All three hands I lost to the same player. All three hands I had better cards pre-flop or at the flop. It stunk big time, as I expected to be in the money, but I had no reason to be upset about anything. I played well in that tournament but had a stretch of 3 hands where I ended up getting beat down. I think that if you can't handle losing, then you shouldn't be playing.

During the WSOP this year, I probably should have spent a little less time keeping tabs on the events online and spent more time actually working lol. That kind of stuff can happen I guess. There's actually some WSOP Circuit events not far from me in October - I might try to hit up one or two of those and see how I do. I'm hoping to be at next year's WSOP in a $2,500 tournament, but we'll see. I think it would be a lot of fun. I know a lot of people do, but I have never tried the online poker stuff. I guess I really don't know if I can trust that stuff or not.

Well, I am by no means a writer, so I am done.
