Four men were shot, one of them fatally, after a poker game turned violent in north Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The dead man has been identified as Angel Vazquez, 48, no address available. He died at an area hospital.
The four men were playing poker at a residence in the 118800 block of Varnell near Northington about 12:45 a.m. when a fight broke out among them, according to a HCSO press release.
The suspect, Manuel Morales, 41, retrieved a handgun from his vehicle, returned to the residence and opened fire at Morales, deputies said. All of the men were hit in the shootout and were rushed to area hospitals. The conditions of the survivors – Morales, Jose Vazquez, 58, and Alberto Vazquez, 54 – were not available.
Morales, no address given, has been charged with murder in the slaying, according to HCSO.
