THE BAN ON MONKEY is TOAST!!!!

Driving to N. Alabama on Saturday with my wife Squirrel, we hit a wall of traffic, the result of an overturned oil tanker, that closed a 5-mile stretch of I-65. We would sit on that highway for 3 hours and 45 minutes.

15 minutes into that wait…my phone rang. It was Steve Frezer calling from New Orleans…who after extensive phone conversations with people in management for Harrah’s/Caeser’s…was calling to let me know that it had been decided that I was no longer on the outside looking in.

My ban, which was a ridiculous piece of crap in the first place…one orchestrated by two guys who’s motivation I never did quite figure out…is OVER! I am free to play the seat that I qualified for in the $1m National WSOP Freeroll, that starts on Friday this coming week…as well as all the other WSOP events this summer.

To say I am excited would be a huge…I mean…GIGANTIC…understatement! I feel that being wrongly held out of the past two years’ worth of WSOP’s has likely cost me in ways I can’t even begin to put a price tag on, and had a lot to do with the minor case of depression I have been since medicated for.

This, in my opinion, is the turning point. I know my behavior has been far more than just sufficient for an expected poker player. If anything, the only thing I have been guilty of over the past few years…is voicing my opinion on blogs and standing up for ‘the little guys’ who have been getting victimized. I can live with that.

I just want to thank EVERYONE who stood by me, who supported me, who chipped in with a good word to all the ‘right’ people, and who never doubted ‘my side’ of the story. It feels great. Really great! Now I just hope I can go out and make everyone proud this summer!
